#4 canvas is extremely heavy duty. Remember the lower the #, the higher the ounces per square yard. #4 Cotton Duck Canvas is commonly used for industrial strength bags, work clothes, hammocks, sand bags and director chairs.

#4 Heavy Duty Canvas is 100% cotton. Its construction consists of a double filled plain weave which makes it smooth, but very resistant to rips and tears. This canvas fabric is natural, meaning it is unprimed and has not been bleached.
